Harley needed more than a Harley to get out of the shelter, but luckily there were Angels Among Us to help save him. Estimated to be eight to ten years old, this Dachshund mix was a stray who ended up at the Harnett County Animal Shelter in North Carolina on October 23rd. As a senior dog in a small and crowded rural kill shelter, Harley had to get help fast.

Chris Leone, RADAR’s liaison for the Harnett County Animal Shelter, immediately sought our help for Harley. We agreed to provide an offer to help assist with his vetting costs as an incentive for a rescue to take him. On October 28th, Cindy Olweiler and her Angels Among Us Animal Sanctuary in Pennsylvania agreed to take Harley! He arrived at the rescue on November 14th. Harley received his dental treatment and neutering on December 2nd.

“What a sweetheart!” Cindy told us. “Harley is just adorable! He is 15 pounds of sweetness! He’s very gentle and quiet. Harley is very laid-back. He loves to nap and is happy just watching the other dogs.” To view more photos of Harley, click here.

RADAR paid all of Harley’s dental treatment and neutering costs, which totaled $251.
