Have you heard of Harley? If not, you’re missing out! This handsome Lab mix somewhere around one and two years old, arrived at the Darlington County Humane Society in South Carolina as a stray by animal control on February 13th. Despite being an instant hit at the shelter, Harley ended up on the urgent list. He was heartworm positive, which was an obstacle to being rescued or adopted.
Thankfully, Caring for Creatures in Virginia expressed interest in pulling Harley from the shelter. They just needed some help with his heartworm treatment. So on May 29th, Susan Blakeney, RADAR’s liaison with the Darlington County Humane Society Rescue, reached out to RADAR to see if we could help with Harley’s treatment. We agreed to assist, and he received his treatment on June 25th!
During Harley’s time at the shelter, he became known as “Harley the Ham,” due to his playful, fun-loving nature. He’s friendly and sociable, and he enjoys spending time with people and dogs, and getting lots of belly rubs! “Harley is also very handsome and walks nicely on the leash, and this great guy is also playful and enjoys a romp around the exercise area,” we were told. “He’s just waiting to hear those words that every dog hopes for: ‘This is the dog for us!’” Click here to view more photos of Harley.
RADAR paid all of Harley’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $342.
It is only with your help that we can cover our costs of helping Harley. Please donate to his Fund now!
