Here’s Hoffer who needed a RADAR offer! This three to four-year-old blend of Rhodesian Ridgeback, Labrador Retriever and Mastiff arrived at the Harnett County Animal Shelter in North Carolina on June 2nd. While we don’t why Hoffer ended up at the shelter, we do know that he was heartworm positive. With no rescue or adopter interest, Hoffer was placed on the shelter’s euthanasia list for June 14th.
With Hoffer’s time rapidly running out, Saved Souls Animal Rescue in Delaware offered to take him if they could get help with his heartworm treatment costs. Chris Leone, an advocate for the Harnett County Animal Shelter dogs, jumped into action with two urgent tasks: find funding and extend Hoffer’s euthanasia date. After begging, the shelter gave Hoffer an extra day. Chris immediately asked us to help and we provided an offer to help and Hoffer was safe!
Hoffer made his way to Delaware, where he began his heartworm treatment on August 23rd. The rescue shared this with us: “Hoffer is handsome! He loves water and the pool! Big dogs who like to roughhouse would be the best playmates or housemates for him.” To see more photos of Hoffer, click here.
RADAR paid $250 towards the heartworm treatment costs for Hoffer.
