Happy Hoss is never cross! Approximately five years old and a Bully Breed mix, Hoss arrived as a stray at the Halifax County Animal Control shelter in North Carolina on January 17th. Hoss did not have much time at this small rural shelter, and testing heartworm positive, combined with his breed mix, only made matters worse.

On January 23rd, Dune Dawgs Rescue in North Carolina was at the shelter to pick up another dog they were pulling when they noticed Hoss. He was scheduled to be euthanized that same day. The rescue urgently contacted RADAR. If we could help with his heartworm treatment costs, they would take Hoss. We agreed at once and Hoss was safe!

Hoss had his heartworm treatment done on April 7th. “Hoss is so kind and gentle,” the rescue told us. “He’s a big goofball! He’s well-mannered and just a lovebug. He’s a smooshy faced, goofy boy!” Click here to view more photos of Hoss.

RADAR paid all the heartworm treatment costs for Hoss, which totaled $200.

UPDATE! All funds for Hoss have been raised! Thank you!
