Jacob’s life was in double jeopardy. This approximately 18-month-old Labrador Retriever mix arrived as a stray on March 25th at the Chester County Animal Care Control shelter in South Carolina. The combination of being a black dog and heartworm positive put Jacob at a double risk of not making out it of the shelter alive. The weeks slipped by with no interest in Jacob.
In early April, Jacob’s situation became urgent when he was placed on the “Last Call” list. Mary Anne Tolbert from the shelter turned to RADAR for help. As an incentive for a rescue to take Jacob, we agreed to provide an offer of assistance for his heartworm treatment. About a week later, Survivor Tails Animal Rescue in Massachusetts agreed to take Jacob! On April 23rd, Jacob received his heartworm treatment, with RADAR covering the entire $260 bill. Thanks to the efforts of everyone involved, Jacob will now have a new leash on life!
RADAR paid the full $260 cost of Jacob’s heartworm treatment.
