Folks at the shelter where always eager to greet Jenson. Maybe it was the perpetual smile on his face or his tail constantly wagging in a happy dance mode! Jenson might not have been so happy if he had known just how much his life was at risk at the shelter. A one to two-year-old Shepherd mix, Jenson arrived as a stray at the Darlington County Humane Society shelter in South Carolina on October 4th. What jinxed Jenson was testing heartworm positive.

On October 9th, To Love a Canine Rescue in Pennsylvania expressed interest in taking Jenson. The only thing that stood in the way was paying for his heartworm treatment costs. Susan Blakeney, RADAR’s liaison with the Darlington County Humane Society Rescue, wasted no time in asking for our help with Jenson. RADAR agreed, making it a done deal! Jenson received his heartworm treatment on November 9th.

“There’s so much to like about Jenson!” Susan told us. “He loves meeting new folks, other dogs and even cats! He’s eager to please and is softly affectionate. Jenson likes to share kisses and nudge folks to take him for an easy-paced walk. He would be a great match for a family with kids.” To see more photos of Jenson, click here.

RADAR paid all $264 of the heartworm treatment costs for Jenson.
