Sometimes the pieces of a puzzle just fall into place. And that was the case with Jigsaw! This four-year-old Chihuahua-Toy Fox Terrier mix arrived as a stray at the Rowan County Animal Shelter in Kentucky on October 16th. Although the owners of Jigsaw never came looking for him, he managed to catch the attention of STAR (Saving the Animals of Rowan) in Kentucky. STAR provided Jigsaw with a safe exit from the shelter.
Jigsaw’s timing was just right for him to be a part of STAR’s participation in the Morehead State University Veterinary Technology Program (MSU-VTP). Each month several STAR dogs are provided with a week of vet care and treatment at a significantly reduced cost. For this fall, RADAR is fully covering the cost of STAR’s dogs at MSU-VTP. Jigsaw was one of five STAR dogs for October. He had his initial vetting and neutering done the week of October 21st.
The students and staff at MSU-VTP told us this about Jigsaw: “He’s a sweet little guy who warmed up to us tremendously through the week. He loves to be held and snuggled!” Another important piece of Jigsaw’s puzzle fell into place on October 28th when Tara’s House Animal Rescue in Maryland agreed to take him! RADAR paid all of Jigsaw’s veterinary care and neutering costs of $65.
UPDATE! Jigsaw has been adopted! He had just gotten off transport and was adopted by a friend of a Tara’s House Rescue volunteer!
