Arriving at the Horry County Animal Shelter in South Carolina as a stray on March 1st, Jimmy the Labrador Retriever was soon in danger. This one-year-old was not up for adoption due to his heartworm positive status. No one came for him, and he soon landed on the shelter’s euthanasia list. This handsome golden boy needed out of the shelter immediately!
Heather Labbe of New England Lab Rescue in Maine asked RADAR if we could help Jimmy. Her rescue wanted to find a good home for Jimmy but needed help with the cost of treating his heartworms. We said “yes,” and Jimmy completed his treatment on April 3rd.
Jimmy is super-loving and friendly. He has a great smile, and is healthy now that his heartworms have been vanquished. This young boy has his whole life ahead of him and now has a chance at a good life. His rescue also calls him Captain and sometimes Jack! Click here to view more photos of Jimmy.
RADAR paid all of Jimmy’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $330.
UPDATE! All funds for Jimmey have been raised! Thank you!
