For no known reason, Joanna’s owners dumped her at the Rocky Mount Animal Shelter in Nash County, North Carolina in mid November. A Miniature Pinscher, Joanna is about three years old, weighs less than 12 pounds, and has a somewhat deformed nose. She was so terrified being at this high-kill shelter, that she was exhibiting cage aggression. Her chances of getting out alive were slim at best.
Julie Braswell of Parker’s PAWS rescue in North Carolina had no more room or money for even one more dog. But she just could not leave Joanna at the shelter to die. So she took Joanna and made room for her. Julie says that, “Joanna is a super sweet girl!” To see more photos of Joanna, click here.
Now all that Julie needed was the money to pay for Joanna’s initial vetting and spaying. She asked for RADAR’s assistance and we agreed to cover the costs. Joanna’s vetting took place on November 20th. She tested heartworm negative, and is now all ready for her forever home.
RADAR has paid Joanna’s initial vetting and spaying costs of $158.
