Keelin was feelin’ like she couldn’t catch a break when she was abandoned in a home with two other dogs after their owners moved away. While the two other dogs, named Niall and Nola, were left outside, four- to five-year-old Bully Breed mix Keelin was left locked in a trailer to fend for herself. Animal control seized the trio and took them to the Lee County Animal Shelter in South Carolina on June 21st. All three of them were emaciated and in poor condition, and not surprisingly, Keelin was heartworm positive.

RADAR’s liaison at the Lee County Animal Shelter contacted us on July 27th, seeking our help with Keelin. Noah’s Ark Rescue Project and Sanctuary in Pennsylvania, wanted to pull Keelin from the shelter, but they needed help with the cost of her heartworm treatment. We agreed to assist, and she was safe! Keelin completed her treatment on December 5th.

“Keelin is pretty much perfection,” we were told. “She is so incredibly sweet and loving, and she gives out kisses like they’re going out of style. She loves other dogs, big and small. She is just a super-duper happy girl!” It didn’t take long for Keelin to be adopted, since her foster family fell in love and wanted to make her a member of their family! RADAR paid $250 towards the heartworm treatment costs for Keelin.
