It’s Kyle? It’s Tyler? No, it’s Kyler! This six-year-old Labrador Retriever mix arrived as a stray at the Darlington County Humane Society shelter in South Carolina on March 25th. Kyler had just about everything going against him: he was a black dog, a larger dog, an older dog and a heartworm positive dog. Was there any way to save Kyler?
Once more, the volunteers with the Darlington County Humane Society did the impossible and found a rescue for Kyler! The New England Lab Rescue in Maine agreed to take Kyler if they could get some help with his heartworm treatment costs. The rescue could provide $150, but the rest would need to found elsewhere. RADAR’s liaison with the Darlington County Humane Society volunteers, Susan Blakeney, asked for our assistance. We agreed to cover the balance of the cost of Kyler’s heartworm treatment, which was done on May 9th. Susan had this to tell us about Kyler, “He’s low key and loving, gentle and very polite. Kyler is simply great with other dogs. He’s very approachable and appealing!” To view more photos of Kyler, click here.
RADAR paid $142 towards Kyler’s heartworm treatment bill of $292.
