This Lady was on the loose. Lady’s owner didn’t care much for her, so she was left on her own to roam the neighborhood. Concerned for Lady’s safety, neighbors finally called animal control. On August 2nd, the five-year-old Beagle-Basset Hound mix was taken to the Blount County Animal Center shelter in Tennessee. Not surprisingly, Lady was heartworm positive.

On August 13th, Kristin Baksa, the shelter’s rescue coordinator, requested RADAR’s help for Lady. All that Lady needed to get rescued or adopted and a well-deserved second chance was heartworm treatment. We agreed to assist, and on August 24h Lady had her heartworm treatment done.

“Lady is a ball of energy!” Kristin shared with us. “She’s a happy girl who can’t decide whether she wants to keep her nose to the ground or sit on your lap. She likes dogs, people and kids, and does not know a stranger. Happy, happy, happy!” Click here to view more photos of Lady.

RADAR paid $250 towards Lady’s heartworm treatment costs.
