All dressed up with nowhere to go! Landon looked like he was decked out in his tuxedo strutting around town when he was picked up as a stray and brought to the Darlington County Humane Society shelter in South Carolina on May 3rd. Three years old and a handsome 40-pound Heeler mix, Landon was winning over hearts at the shelter and hopeful that a rescue would notice him and take him to the prom. Standing in the way of finding a rescue or an adopter was Landon’s positive heartworm status.

On June 25th, RADAR’s liaison with the Darlington County Humane Society Rescue, Susan Blakeney, requested our help with Landon. Puppy Paws Rescue in Maryland would take him if his heartworm treatment costs could be covered. We agreed and Landon was safe. He started to polish his shoes and straighten his tie for his big date! He had his heartworm treatment done on June 26th in preparation for his limo ride transport to his rescue foster home.

Landon is a bit nervous at first, but quickly warms up to new people and wants to give kisses and get some cuddle time. He enjoys the company of kids and is very gentle with them. Landon is good with other dogs and likes to take his time to get to know new dogs before playing. Landon looks forward to many date nights with his forever family! Click here to view more photos of Landon.

RADAR paid all of Landon’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $217.
