Little Bit is indeed little at less than 20 pounds, but she has a big personality. A three-year-old Parson Russell Terrier-Samoyed mix, Little Bit came to the Blount County Animal Center shelter in Tennessee on March 4th, along with her sibling Jumper, who is her best friend. Their owner went to a nursing home and there was no one to take them in. Jumper tested heartworm negative but Little Bit tested positive for heartworms. Little Bit would need more than a little financial help with her heartworm treatment to find an adopter or rescue.
Stephanie Garrett, RADAR’s liaison with the Blount County Animal Center shelter, asked RADAR for assistance on March 17th. We agreed to help Little Bit, and she had her heartworm treatment on March 25th. Both Little Bit and Jumper are in the same foster home.
“Little Bit is an adorable little sweetheart,” Stephanie told us. “She loves children, adults and other dogs. Although she has had only one owner her whole life, she adjusted well to her foster home, making new friends quickly. Little Bit loves to sunbathe and cuddle!” Little Bit has a lot of love to give her new family. Be sure to view more photos in Little Bit’s gallery.
RADAR paid all of Little Bit’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $91.
