Presenting Lori: the dog, the problem and the solution.

The dog. Lori is a two- to three-year-old Lab mix who is described as being dog friendly, people friendly, and just a joy to spend time with! Her foster mom says Lori is just as happy as can be and has the silliest personality. She is so very affectionate! To see more photos of Lori, click here.

The problem. On September 5th, Lori was admitted to the Sumter County Animal Shelter in South Carolina. It’s not known how or why she ended up at the shelter, but what was known is that she tested heartworm positive, which greatly limited her chances of getting adopted or rescued.

The Solution. Kym Cyr with Second Chance Animal Rescue of Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts requested RADAR’s assistance for Lori on October 5th. If we could provide funding for her heartworm treatment costs, the rescue would pull her from the shelter. We agreed, and she had her heartworm treatment done on October 18th.

RADAR paid all of Lori’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $350.
