Geez, Louise! This two-year-old smooth-coat Collie mix was found as a stray on July 26th. Louise was taken to the Sampson County Animal Shelter in North Carolina. For over three long months, Louise waited for an adopter or rescue. Testing heartworm positive greatly limited Louise’s chances of getting out of the shelter alive. Louise’s prospects looked grim.

On October 28th, we received a request to help with Louise from Laura Roberts and her Road Home Rescue in North Carolina. If we could assist with Louise’s heartworm treatment costs, Laura would pull Louise and get her treatment done. If this was done, the hope was that Fauquier SPCA in Virginia would then take Louise. We agreed, and Louise had her heartworm treatment done on November 16th and 17th.

We were told this about Louise: “She is a very gentle soul. She has the softest fur. Louise is an easy walker; she doesn’t pull. She’s very quiet. Louise is just as sweet as she can be. She will make a wonderful companion to any family!” To see more photos of Louise, click here.

RADAR paid all $151 of the heartworm treatment costs for Louise.
