MacGyver is a Hound mix who found himself in a jam! This two to three-year-old was found as a stray by animal control on April 11th and taken to the Lee County Animal Shelter in South Carolina. MacGyver had the misfortune to be heartworm positive. The combination of being just another Hound and heartworm positive did not bode well for MacGyver.

On April 23rd, Brandi Sowell, RADAR’s liaison with the Lee County Animal Shelter, reached out to us for help with MacGyver. One Life to Live Pet Rescue and Adoption in Pennsylvania was interested in taking him, but funding was needed for his heartworm treatment costs. We agreed to assist, and MacGyver was safe! He had his heartworm treatment done on May 23rd and 24th.

Brandi shared this with us from his temporary foster in south Carolina: “MacGyver is truly the definition of a Southern Gentleman. He walked into the house and immediately fell head over heels for Miss Gladys, my Beagle! He insists that their beds be right beside each other, and he even became the bed for Miss Gladys this morning! He’s so calm and sweet, and it’s truly a pleasure to foster this handsome guy!” Click here to view more photos of MacGyver.

RADAR paid $300 towards MacGyver’s heartworm treatment costs
