Come what may, help was needed for Mae and her bonded litter sister Ellie. When their owner’s dog had puppies, he found homes for all the pups except Mae and Ellie. Unable to give away these six-month-old Hound-Lab mixes, on August 9th he surrendered them both to the high-kill Cleveland County Animal Control Services shelter in North Carolina.
Shellinda Hardie, the founder of Jericho’s Wish Animal Rescue in New Jersey, was determined to save this bonded pair. On August 11th, she asked for RADAR’s help so that she could take both Ellie and Mae, and find them a deserving forever home. With our commitment to assist, both dogs were safe! They received their initial vetting on August 14th.
“These two are true sweethearts!” Shellinda told us. “Both of the girls have a heart of gold and love to have their bellies rubbed. Both are cat and dog friendly.”How does the rescue tell them apart? Mae has some white toes, while Ellie’s feet are completely black! To see more photos of Mae, click here.
RADAR paid all $145 of the initial vetting costs for Mae.
