As Mr. Magoo’s dog McBarker, might ask, “What’s new, Mr. Magoo?” And this Magoo would have quite a bit of news to share. Three years old and a Miniature Pinscher mix, Magoo and three other dogs were seized by animal control on November 29th. They were taken to the Chesterfield County Animal Services shelter in South Carolina. Of the four dogs, only Magoo had the misfortune of being heartworm positive.

God’s Grace Canine Rescue in Maryland was interested in taking all four dog, but could only include Magoo if they could get help for his heartworm treatment costs. They reached out to RADAR on December 15th for our assistance with Magoo. We agreed, which secured Magoo’s rescue. He received his heartworm treatment on January 18th.

“Magoo is still learning that he’s now ok and will be from here on out,” the rescue told us. “When he first came to us he was very shy and growled at times, never snappy but just vocal, as he was unsure. He travels well in the car and his favorite room in the house seems to be the kitchen. He does like his foster brothers and sister as he’s learning from them that everything’s ok. He’s very interested in learning.” Click here to view more photos of Magoo.

RADAR paid all of Magoo’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $165.
