Mello, a three-year-old Labrador-Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix, is only mellow when he’s sleeping or getting his ears rubbed! Sadly, Mello’s previous owner passed away, and he ended up at the Blount County Animal Center in Tennessee on September 18th. More sad news for Mello came when it turned out that he was heartworm positive, which would impact his chances of being rescued or adopted.
Kristin Baksa, the shelter’s rescue coordinator, reached out to RADAR on September 29th to see if we could help. If we could provide assistance with the cost of Mello’s heartworm treatment, he would be one big step closer to finding a new forever home. We said we would help, and he received his heartworm treatment on October 16th!
Kristin told us that Mello is a big, beautiful boy who is happy, energetic, and friendly. He’s the kind of guy who likes to go, go, go! He’d make the perfect companion for someone who enjoys being active, but knows how to mellow out when the time is right. To see more photos of Mello, click here.
RADAR paid all $282 of the heartworm treatment costs for Mello.
It is only with your help that we can cover our costs of helping Mello. Please donate to his Fund now!
