Life was full of misery for Missy. When she was surrendered to the Harnett County Animal Shelter in North Carolina on September 7th, Missy was emaciated, had bilateral cherry eye and skin allergies. Two years old and an American Pit Bull Terrier mix, Missy not only needed care, but her very life was on the line at this rural shelter which was filled to capacity.
On September 11th Chris Leone, RADAR’s liaison for the Harnett County Animal Shelter, asked for our help with Missy. We provided an offer to help cover her vetting costs as an incentive for a rescue to take her. On September 15th, Adopt Me Animal Rescue in Wisconsin agreed to pull Missy! Once her skin issues were resolved, she had her cherry eye surgery and spaying done on October 23rd.
We were told this about Missy: “She is adorable and very sweet. Her entire foster family loves her. She’s getting along with the other dogs in their home. She is just so cute!” Click here to view more photos of Missy.
RADAR paid $200 towards Missy’s cherry eye surgery and spaying costs.
