It was a long row to hoe for Moe! Approximately five years and a Coonhound mix, Moe arrived as a stray at the Greenwood County Animal Shelter in South Carolina on August 28th. He was a very shy guy. Not only was he just another Hound, but he also tested positive for heartworms, and the combination only made rescue or adoption options all the more difficult.
No row was too long to hoe to save Moe for Mary Lou Seymour with the Shelter Animals Advocates and its HeartBeat Goes On program. Through her tireless efforts, a rescue was found for Moe on September 14th. Dog Star Rescue in Connecticut would take Moe if funding could be found for his heartworm treatment. Mary Lou requested our assistance and we agreed to help.
On September 16th, Moe had his heartworm treatment done. December Clark, also with Shelter Animals Advocates and The HeartBeat Goes On, told us this about Moe: “Weighing in at just under 60 pounds, he’s a tad underweight. He’s very shy and sad. We’re hoping in time he will cheer up. He needs lots of reassurance. He is very sweet and loves other dogs.” To see more photos of Moe, click here.
RADAR paid all $341 of the heartworm treatment costs for Moe.
