Moe, a five-year-old Weimaraner mix, is longing for a family of his own. His former owner had an accident, and due to a medical issue, could no longer care for him. On March 24th, all three dogs were surrendered to the Darlington County Humane Society shelter in South Carolina. Moe had the misfortune of testing positive for heartworms.
On June 12th, Home At Last Dog Rescue in Pennsylvania offered to take Moe into their rescue if his heartworms were treated first. Susan Blakeney, RADAR’s liaison with the Darlington County Humane Society Rescue, requested RADAR’s help. We agreed to assist, and Moe had his heartworm treatment on July 13th and 14th.
“Moe loves to be loved,” Susan told us. “He has a gentle, calm, distinguished demeanor—quite appropriate for his sleek coat and his regal appearance. He hops right in the car and rides on the seat beside you! He greets other male and female dogs politely. He walks gently on leash and wants nothing more than to be doted and loved on again by a family.” Be sure to view more photos in Moe’s gallery.
RADAR paid all of Moe’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $560.
