Molly has an unusual, somewhat melancholy story and past, but things have changed thanks to the shelter and RADAR! A two-and-a-half-year-old Great Pyrenees, she was first advertised on Craigslist. An independent rescuer stepped in to help her and found her a foster. However, the foster home wasn’t a good fit for Molly, and so Molly ended up at the Mary Ann Morris Animal Society (MAMAS) shelter in Bamberg County, South Carolina on November 10th. Now an owner surrender and heartworm positive, Molly needed some help to turn her fortune a bit more jolly.
Ruthie Rish with MAMAS contacted RADAR for help regarding Molly’s heartworms on November 11th. We agreed to help right away and Molly immediately had her back-to-back heartworm injections on November 11th and 12th, as the vet had an opening and could take her right away.
Molly is a beautiful girl, a stunning Great Pyrenees with a long white coat. “She has been very gentle, calm and sweet,” Ruthie told us, “which all seem to be characteristics that everyone wants. She’s not rambunctious at all, and very affectionate. She met one dog when she first came to the shelter, and was nice and friendly to that dog.” Now that her heartworms are treated, MAMAS will work to find her a forever home. RADAR paid all of Molly’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $360.
