For all of his life, five-year-old Moses was tethered outside. After a neighbor’s dog came into his yard and fought with him, Moses was taken to the Darlington County Humane Society shelter in South Carolina. While his tethering days were over, Moses was extremely thin and diagnosed as being heartworm positive.
Moses is a medium-sized, longhaired Shepherd mix. His long hair masks how terribly thin he is. Despite his stunning looks, gentleness, and sweet and loving personality, his need for heartworm treatment and basic vetting (including neutering) make him an at-risk dog. And that’s where RADAR comes to the rescue to make sure that this Moses does make it to the promised land of a loving forever home! Click here for additional photos of Moses.
RADAR has committed to pay the full $291 of the vet care for Moses.
His treatment will be in three phases. First, he needs to gain some much-needed weight. To help accomplish that, he’s now in the relative comfort of a boarding kennel where he’s getting lots of TLC. Next, in early July he will be neutered. And finally, later in July he will begin his heartworm treatment. After that, Moses will not only be the adorable dog he is now, but also an adoptable dog ready for a new leash on life instead of a tether!
