How much tougher could it get for Muffin? About 1 year old and a Bully Breed mix, Muffin had already had a tough enough time. She was found as a stray by a volunteer of the Blount County Animal Center shelter in Tennessee and taken to the shelter on January 24th. It was clear that Muffin had already had at least one litter of puppies. Muffin must have also been kept outside with no heartworm prevention medication, as she was heartworm positive at a very young age.
On February 10th, Stephanie Garrett, RADAR’s liaison with the Blount County Animal Center shelter, asked if RADAR would cover Muffin’s heartworm treatment costs. We committed to Muffin and she had heartworm treatments on February 28th and April 8th.
“Muffin is a very pretty, young dog who sits for treats,” Stephanie told us. “She was a little scared and shy at first, but soon came out of her shell. She loves to snuggle and sleep under the covers with her foster mom. Muffin is a sweet gal who is now ready to find a tender loving and caring forever home.” Be sure to view more photos in Muffin’s gallery.
RADAR paid all of Muffin’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $369.
