Navy was so blue when he arrived at the Duplin County Animal Shelter in North Carolin on November 8th as a stray. The 18-month-old Bully Breed mix quickly became a shelter favorite. He was a loving dog who had wound up at the wrong place at the wrong time. He knew sit, and to give paw and also appeared to be house trained. He was also full of life and would not stop waggling his tail. Unfortunately, he had some issues with eyes and tested positive for heartworms.
Fortunately for Navy, Henni Rains and her Dune Dawgs Rescue were interested in rescuing him. Henni approached RADAR for help with his heartworm treatment costs on November 16th. We agreed, and he was safe! Before he had his heartworm treatment, Navy had entropion surgery on both eyes and for his neuter, a scrotum ablation. He then underwent his heartworm treatment on January 4th.
Henni renamed him Buddha. We’re told that he loves his squeaky toys and plays well with other dogs. With his heartworm treatment done and his entropion surgery on his eyes completed, this total sweetheart is finally on his way to a better life. To see more photos of Navy, click here.
RADAR paid all $250 of the heartworm treatment costs for Navy.
