It’s time to get to know Novi! This approximately two-year-old Boxer-Mastiff mix arrived as a stray at the Mary Ann Morris Animal Society (MAMAS) shelter in rural Bamberg County in South Carolina on January 23rd. Novi had two big strikes against her: she’s a large dog and heartworm positive. The combination of the two meant that her heartworm treatment as a large dog is more costly.
What Novi needed was a ticket out of the shelter. In late March, Home Sweet Home Animal Rescue in New York state offered to take Novi, but only if her heartworm treatment could be covered. The dedicated folks at MAMAS reached out to RADAR on March 28th to request our assistance, noting that the heartworm treatment would be a definite ticket out of the shelter for Novi. We immediately committed to cover Novi’s costs. Novi had her heartworm treatment done on April 9th. She will soon be on her way to Home Sweet Home Animal Rescue to find a forever home sweet home of her own! To see more photos of Novi, click here.
RADAR paid all of Novi’s $240 heartworm treatment costs.
