This Olivia thinks some of Olivia Newton-John’s songs apply to her. For example, she will be “Hopelessly Devoted to You” and let you know that “I Honestly Love You!” On February 12th, the three-year-old Bluetick Coonhound was found abandoned in a rural area often used as a dumping ground for unwanted dogs. She was taken to the Blount County Animal Center shelter in Tennessee. She appeared to have been well fed, but heartworm prevention wasn’t included with any of those meals, so she was heartworm positive.

On February 17th, Kristin Baksa, the shelter’s rescue coordinator (perhaps with Olivia Newton-John’s “Please Mr. Please” in mind), requested RADAR’s help for Olivia. “Once her heartworm treatment is complete,” Kristin told us, “she will make a wonderful addition to a Hound-loving family.” We agreed to help, and on February 27th she had her heartworm treatment done.

Kristin shared this with us about Olivia: “This girl is drop-dead gorgeous! She walks great on the leash and is friendly with people and other dogs. She uses her Coonhound bay only sparingly (maybe to try to sing some of these songs!) What a great dog!” The best Olivia Newton-John song was the one that applied on March 7th, when her adopter decided: “You’re the One That I Want!” Click here to view more photos of Olivia.

RADAR paid all of Olivia’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $354.

UPDATE! Olivia has been adopted! Kristin shared this with us on March 7th, “Olivia’s new Dad used to live in Maryville, but moved to Florida. He LOVES Bluetick hounds (for inside pets, not for hunting). He drove up from Florida last night to meet her and was here promptly when we opened this morning. Love it – this girl deserves a great home and I do believe she found it!”

UPDATE! All funds for Olivia have been raised! Thank you!
