Now we can say, “One time we helped One Time!” And just how did this approximately one-year-old Labrador Retriever mix get her name? Well, this is what we were told: “She was running around a neighborhood for days before someone finally caught her and called the Chester County Animal Care & Control shelter in South Carolina. When the animal control officer picked her up on October 23rd, he asked the lady who caught her what the dog’s name was, and the lady said, ‘One Time.’ We don’t know why, but the name stuck!” And speaking of stuck, that is exactly what One Time would be at the shelter after testing heartworm positive.
Emily Ward, an advocate for the Chester County dogs, contacted RADAR on October 28th. Last Chance Animal Rescue in New York expressed interest in taking One Time if help could be found for her heartworm treatment costs. We agreed to cover the costs, and One Time had her heartworm treatment done on October 30th.
“One Time is a very sweet and happy girl,” Emily told us. “She plays well with other dogs and loves attention. One Time is good with all people, dogs and cats. She is a little social butterfly!” To see more photos of One Time, click here.
RADAR paid all of One Time’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $200.
