Hi, I’m Pattie! I’m somewhere between one and two years old, and I’m a Bully Breed mix. On May 15th, I was picked up with my pup, Patterson, by animal control, and we were taken to the Darlington County Humane Society shelter in South Carolina. I welcomed my new surroundings and enjoyed meeting many new friends at the shelter. What I was really hoping for was for a rescue or adopter to give me a second chance at life for some new adventures! There was bad news though: I was heartworm positive, which made it harder for me to find my forever home.
Thankfully, Out of the Pits rescue in New York found out about me and wanted to pull me from the shelter! But they could only do that if they had help with the cost of my heartworm treatment. On July 29th, Susan Blakeney, RADAR’s liaison with the Darlington County Humane Society Rescue, requested RADAR’s help. They agreed to assist, and I got my treatment on August 26th and 27th. I was one step closer to a life full of fun adventures!
Folks at the shelter had this to say about me: “No shyness here! Pattie is a major extrovert and ‘the more, the merrier’ can be found on the opening page of her daily diary! Pattie has never met a stranger and has such fun in meeting and interacting with new humans and doggies. Perhaps in her former life, she was in a college sorority and was in charge of finding new recruits to join in the joy of having a circle of like-minded friends to hang out with! In any event, she has wasted no time in making the most out of her time here at the shelter.” Click here to see more photos of me!
RADAR paid all of Pattie’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $405.
UPDATE! All funds for Pattie have been raised! Thank you!
