Thanks for looking! I’m Paxton, a one-year-old Hound mix who arrived at Darlington County Humane Society shelter on September 9th. I’m a bit of a mystery because it’s not known for sure if I’m a true stray or a prior pet. I’d love to prove that it’s the latter! But first I had to deal with the grim news that I was heartworm positive.

Although I was put on the shelter’s put to sleep list for October 28th, RADAR stepped up on October 22nd to help me with my heartworm treatment in the hopes of finding a rescue to take me. Thankfully, To Love a Canine Rescue in Pennsylvania agreed to do just that the very next day! I received my heartworm treatment on November 4th.

Bring on the kids! I’m ready for them, if they are ready for sweet and cuddly me! Folks tell me that I’m a fast adaptor and can quickly go with the flow and make friends lickety-split! I interact well with other dogs and have a happy temperament. I’d love to play with your other pets, or just cuddle up to you for hugs and kisses! To see more photos of me, click here.

RADAR paid all of Paxton’s heartworm treatment costs, totaling $229.
