Although this dog is no mother-of-pearl, she is Pearl the mother! A three-year-old Dogo Argentino mix and very pregnant, Pearl was surrendered by her owners to the Columbus County Animal Shelter in North Carolina on April 2nd. The very next day she gave birth to six pups! The shelter was no place for Pearl to nurse and care for her puppies. A rescue was urgently needed.

On April 6th Dee Dee Smith of HGBSL Rescue in North Carolina requested RADAR’s help. The rescue was interested in taking Pearl and her pups if we could provide some assistance. We agreed to help with Pearl’s vetting costs. Pearl and her pups were safe!

Pearl had her initial vetting done on April 28th. Fortunately, she was heartworm negative.”Pearl is a sweet, smart and mild-mannered girl,” Dee Dee told us. “She loves to retrieve, sit, stay and give you her paw!” Click here to view more photos of Pearl.

RADAR paid $150 toward Pearl’s initial vetting costs.
