Pepper has always had a little pep in her step, even when she arrived as a stray at the Mary Ann Morris Animal Society (MAMAS) shelter in Bamberg County, South Carolina on May 21st. While this two-year-old Border Collie mix wasn’t claimed by a previous owner, she soon gained the interest of an adopter. Pepper was heartworm positive though, which needed to be taken care of before she could pack her bags.

On June 7th, Ruthie Rish of MAMAS asked RADAR for our financial assistance to treat Pepper’s heartworms so that she could be adopted. We said we would help, sealing her adoption option! Pepper got her heartworm treatment on June 9th!

Pepper was described to us as being a fabulous dog who is just waiting to brighten up someone’s life. “She is a kind, gentle, lovable fuzz-bucket who has so much love to share,” Ruthie told us. Pepper was a hit with her transporters as well. Ellen transported both Pepper and Sunshine and said that they were both “absolutely beautiful sweet happy precious dogs.” Ann also transported Pepper and told us that she is “such a love… she just melts and closes her eyes when you rub her head and ears!!! Someone is getting a very sweet loving doggie.” Be sure to view more photos in Pepper’s gallery.

RADAR paid all of Pepper’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $210.

UPDATE! Pepper has been adopted!
