Princess

Presenting Princess: the dog, the problem and the solution.

The dog. Princess is a two to three-year-old Labrador Retriever mix who is described as a wonderful, friendly and sweet girl. She knows some basic commands, like sit. Princess loves to lick and give kisses! To see more photos of Princess, click here.

The problem. On July 13th, Princess was surrendered by her owners to the Greenwood County Animal Shelter in South Carolina. Not only was she very thin, but she was also heartworm positive, which greatly limited her chances of getting adopted or rescued.

The Solution. Mary Lou Seymour with Shelter Animals Advocates and its HeartBeat Goes On program started worked tirelessly to find a rescue for Princess. On August 3rd, when Dog Star Rescue in Connecticut offered to take her, the only thing still needed was funding for her heartworm treatment costs. Mary Lou immediately requested RADAR’s help and we agreed! Princess had her heartworm treatment done on August 7th.

RADAR paid all $310 of the heartworm treatment costs for Princess.

UPDATE! All funds for Princess have been raised! Thank you!
