The plight of this Princess will pull at your heartstrings. A two-year-old Bully Breed mix, Princess had spent her entire life living outside at the end of a chain. It was on November 11th, when her owner was moving and couldn’t take her along, that she was surrendered to the Jasper Animal Rescue Mission (JARM) shelter in Jasper County, South Carolina. Normally, an owner surrender to a shelter is a sad thing, but not in this case. Princess was really enjoying her new life without a chain and her playtime in the shelter yard.
With her previous life on chain, it was no surprise when she tested positive for heartworms. But it was a very real concern because she had such strong heartworm test results. She would desperately need treatment urgently to save her life. Thanks to the plans of One Love Animal Rescue in Georgia to try to save heartworm positive dogs at JARM in 2018, Princess had just the life-saving chance she needed.
Erin Padgitt with One Love Animal Rescue requested RADAR’s funding help so that they could take Princess and two other dogs (Clementine and Lollie). We agreed to assist with the heartworm treatment costs for all three dogs! Appropriately enough, Princess had her heart saved through her heartworm treatment on Valentine’s Day!
“Princess is a friendly and sweet girl with a silly side,” Erin told us. “She loves other dogs almost as much as she loves people. She is a total cuddle bug! Having spent her life outside on a chain, she is hoping for a soft warm bed to lay on. She can’t wait to find her forever home!” To see more photos of Princess, click here.
RADAR paid all $208 of the heartworm treatment costs for Princess.
UPDATE! All funds for Princess have been raised! Thank you!
