It’s no exaggeration to say that Quielo has had a hard life. He was picked up by animal control because he was tied out behind a house that had burned down. The owner wasn’t providing sufficient food and water, so Quielo was very thin. The owner had cropped Quielo’s ears without a vet, leaving him with almost no ears. On January 5th, this four-year-old Bully Breed mix was admitted to the Humane Society of Lincoln County shelter in Tennessee. Despite all that he has endured, he was described as being as sweet as they come.

On May 23rd, Sue Driesner with the Humane Society of Lincoln County reached out to RADAR for help with Quielo. “Because of the negative reputation associated with his breed,” Sue told us, “we are having difficulty finding him the right home. To make matters worse, he has been diagnosed with heartworms. We are asking for financial help for his heartworm treatment so that we can find him a loving home.” We agreed to help and he received his first treatment on May 22nd.

“Quielo is such a sweet boy!” Sue said. “He gets along with other animals and children. When the opportunity allows, he loves to hang out in the shelter’s office and just greet visitors!” On June 1st came the good news: “Quielo was adopted by a young couple who are simply in love with him!” Click here to view more photos of Quielo.

RADAR paid all of the costs for Quielo’s vetting and first heartworm treatment, which totaled $266.
