Presenting the quintessential Quintessa! This two-year-old mini Labrador Retriever mix arrived as a stray at the Darlington County Humane Society shelter in South Carolina on April 10th. Despite her adorable looks and charming ways, as a heartworm positive dog, Quintessa had no adopter or rescue interest. As the weeks slipped by, Quintessa ended up on the shelter’s euthanasia list.

The Tree Tops Animal Rescue in Pennsylvania offered to take Quintessa, but only if her heartworm treatment costs could be covered. RADAR’s liaison with the Darlington County Humane Society volunteers, Susan Blakeney, contacted us to see if we could assist. We agreed at once.

Quintessa had her heartworm treatment done on May 23rd. Susan had these things to tell us about Quintessa: “She’s bubbly and very sweet. Quintessa is gentle and manageable. She’s playful and interactive with other dogs!” Click here to view more photos of Quintessa.

RADAR paid all of the $170 costs for Quintessa’s heartworm treatment.

UPDATE! All funds for Quintessa have been raised! Thank you!
