Rio

When animal control seized Rio on December 21st, he had been chained outside without food, water or shelter. The two-year-old Shepherd (and perhaps part Boxer) was taken to the Jasper Animal Rescue Mission (JARM) shelter in Jasper County, South Carolina. He was not only emaciated, but also heartworm positive.

Erin Padgitt with One Love Animal Rescue in Georgia contacted RADAR about Rio on March 29th. The rescue was interested in taking him; however, they needed help with his heartworm treatment costs. We agreed to secure his safe rescue! Rio received his heartworm treatment on April 25th.

“Rio is a happy-go-lucky guy!” Erin shared with us. “He likes going for long walks and playing with other dogs, but his absolute favorite activity is playing with toys! He’s affectionate and loves to meet new people and does well with children too.” Click here to view more photos of Rio.

RADAR paid all of Rio’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $218.
