O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo? Fortunately, Romeo is now safe with a rescue! But that was not always the case. This two-year-old Hound mix arrived at the Beaufort County Animal Control shelter in Washington, North Carolina in mid-September as a transfer from a neighboring shelter that was closing. The transfer did not mean Romeo was safe, because the new shelter was already filled to capacity.
On September 19th, RADAR provided an offer to assist with Romeo’s veterinary costs as an incentive for a rescue to take him. And on September 21st, Adoptable Companion Animals of NC, a division of Rainbow Animal Rescue of North Carolina, agreed to rescue Romeo! He had his initial vetting done on September 26th, and luckily tested heartworm negative. Romeo was neutered on October 2nd.
The shelter staff had these comments on Romeo: “He is a fun-loving dog. He’s an active boy and would love his very own family and yard to play in. Romeo will make a great companion. He would also be an ideal candidate for scent training!” Click here to view more photos of Romeo.
RADAR paid all of Romeo’s initial vetting and neutering costs totaling $82.
