Presenting Roscoe: the dog, the problem and the solution.

The dog. Roscoe is a one to two-year-old Hound mix who enjoys spending time with others and being loved on. Described to us as a happy-go-lucky love-bug, this sweet boy is well socialized and very playful. He’s very intelligent, and he has a gentle and submissive temperament. While he loves to spend his time in the great outdoors, he’s also been known to turn into a lap dog when he can fit! Click here to view more photos of Roscoe.

The problem. On May 10th, Roscoe arrived at the Stokes County Animal Shelter in North Carolina. His previous owners decided to surrender him to the shelter because he wouldn’t hunt. Unfortunately, Roscoe was also heartworm positive, which made his chances of being adopted or rescued a lot slimmer.

The solution. Carolina Canine Rescue in North Carolina got a call from the shelter after they were unable to find any other rescue to take Roscoe. Melanie Morrison with Carolina Canine Rescue contacted RADAR to see if we could assist with the cost of Roscoe’s heartworm treatment. We agreed to help, and he was safe! Roscoe got his treatment on June 21st.

RADAR paid all of Roscoe’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $250.

UPDATE! Roscoe has a pending adopting! His adoption is expected to be finalized in late July, following his 30 day recuperation from heartworm treatment!
