“She would never say where she came from. Yesterday don’t matter if it’s gone.” That opening lyric from the famous Rolling Stones song “Ruby Tuesday” suits our Ruby to a tee! Ruby is a very pretty two-year-old Pointer mix. She and her three pups were strays who were luckily captured in a live trap and sent to the Dublin County Animal Shelter in North Carolina on June 2nd. Her puppies were old enough to be weaned and adopted, but poor Ruby had heartworms and was covered in ticks.
Stray dogs, especially heartworm positive dogs, don’t have much time at this shelter, so the aptly-named Ruby’s Misfits Animal Rescue in North Carolina reached out to RADAR requesting that we help treat Ruby’s heartworms. We agreed, and on June 6th Ruby was pulled. She began her heartworm treatment medications on June 20th.
Her foster had this to say of Ruby: “She’s a love bug! And she likes to watch TV. She’s the sweetest foster ever! She gets along so well with everyone. She’s so stinkin’ sweet!” To see more photos of Ruby, click here.
RADAR paid all $205 of the heartworm treatment medication costs for Ruby.
UPDATE! Ruby has been adopted by her foster family! Jennifer with the rescue told us that, “Ruby is officially a foster failure! There were two families interested in Ruby, and her foster family just couldn’t bear to think about her leaving! So she now has a brother and a family of her own. Thank you on behalf of this Ruby for giving her a shot at a forever home!”
UPDATE! All funds for Ruby have been raised! Thank you!
