Presenting Ruby: the dog, the problem and the solution.
The dog. Ruby is an approximately three-year-old, medium-sized Shepherd mix. She is calm, with a low-key personality, and is very sweet natured. She gets along with all dogs. She approaches anything new slowly. She seems depressed, perhaps missing her family. To see more photos of Ruby, click here.
The problem. On January 2nd, Ruby arrived as a stray at the North Augusta Animal Control facility in Aiken County, South Carolina. Although she had a microchip, because the information was never updated, her owner could not be located. Ruby not only had a skin infection, was also heartworm positive. Only a rescue commitment could save her life at this shelter.
The Solution. Mary Lou Seymour of Shelter Animals Advocates and its HeartBeat Goes On program, began searching for a rescue to take Ruby. Good news came when Dog Star Rescue offered to take Ruby on January 25th, if funding could be found for her heartworm treatment. Mary Lou turned to RADAR, and we agreed to help at once. Ruby received her heartworm treatment the very next day!
RADAR paid all $327 of the heartworm treatment costs for Ruby.
It is only with your help that we can cover our costs of helping Ruby. Please donate to her Fund now!
