Sabrina

Sabrina is quite a sweetheart! On August 25th, this seven to eight-year-old Beagle mix arrived at the Mercer County Animal Shelter in West Virginia. There was no indication of how or why Sabrina ended up at the shelter. However, with no rescue or adopter interest, if Sabrina’s life was going to be saved, she would need some assistance in order to be pulled by a rescue.

On August 29th, RADAR offered to assist with Sabrina’s veterinary care as an incentive for a rescue to take her. Almost a month later, on September 24th, Paws Crossroads Animal Rescue in Pennsylvania pulled Sabrina! She received her initial vetting on September 30th. When Sabrina reached her rescue foster home on October 4th, they noticed she had cherry eye in one of her eyes. She had her cherry eye surgery done on November 18th.

“Sabrina is very, very loving, and knows sit and paw,” the rescue told us. “She loves other dogs, and also likes being on someone’s lap. She’s still spunky and can play with the best of them!” Then on November 16th, Sabrina was adopted into a loving forever home! This family had recently lost their long-time family dog, and were looking for a puppy. However, they knew after meeting Sabrina that she was their new family member. “She is spoiled as an only dog,” the rescue said, “She loves to play, and does not act her age. They call her Queen Sabrina!” To see more photos of Sabrina, click here.

RADAR paid $259 for Sabrina’s initial vetting and assisted with her cherry eye surgery costs.
