Sadie had wounds and scars all over her body, as well as a number branded on both her sides when she was brought to the Warren County Animal Shelter in North Carolina on January 18th. This three-year-old Hound mix was limping on her back leg, which had an open wound. A stray, Sadie was sweet-natured despite the pain that had been inflicted upon her. Sadie’s stray hold was up and no one came to claim her. Would this dog’s lifetime of pain end in a crowded shelter?

RescueConnect in North Carolina asked RADAR for help with Sadie’s medical costs on January 26th. RescueConnect would pull Sadie from the shelter to save her life and Almost Home Rescue in Maine would then take Sadie into their rescue. We would definitely help this Hound gal! Sadie was pulled from the shelter and taken to a local vet on January 27th. The rescue shared that the vet “put her on a stronger antibiotic and cleansed her wounds. The vet thinks they should heal up with time. She may always have scars though.” RADAR paid for Sadie’s initial vetting and wound treatment on January 27th. as well as paying towards her follow-up vetting, spaying and dental treatment on February 6th.

“Sadie is absolutely delightful and sweet,” her foster says. “She loves being brushed and is great with other dogs and cats. She loves going on walks and sleeping in bed with me! She likes watching TV too. She has lots of scars all over her. I can’t imagine the pain she has experienced in her life, but she doesn’t seem to let it bother her because she is very friendly and loving. Sadie is going to be #1 with us and whoever adopts her for the rest of her life!” Be sure to view more photos in Sadie’s gallery.

RADAR paid all $109 of the initial vetting and wounds treatment costs and $150 towards the vetting, spaying and dental treatment costs for Sadie.
