Sarah is one of the sweetest senior gals around, despite all the sadness she’s had to endure. This twelve-year-old Beagle mix ended up at the Lee County Animal Shelter in South Carolina on July 18th. She was surrendered by an elderly couple, the only family Sarah had ever known, because they were no longer able to care for her. Sarah was already spayed and up-to-date on her shots. While her previous owners had kept up with Sarah’s basic needs, she still needed some attention. Sarah had a limp, wasn’t eating much, and needed dental work done. To add to that, she couldn’t even enjoy being picked up, given the pain of her arthritis. It was clear that Sarah’s time to feel healthy was long overdue, and she needed some TLC.
On July 19th, Patty Guthrie with Penny Angels Beagle Rescue in New Jersey contacted us about Sarah. The rescue was interested in taking her if we could assist with her vetting costs. We agreed at once and Sarah was safe! She had her vetting, blood tests and an x-ray done on July 24th. Amazingly enough, she was heartworm negative. Her dental treatment took place on August 7th, and she was fortunate not to need any teeth removed.
“Sarah is doing great!” Patty shared with us. “She has really come out of her shell and is enjoying life in her foster home with Cindy and her beagle family. We are quite honored and blessed to have been a RADAR partner on Sarah’s rescue.” To see more photos of Sarah, click here.
RADAR paid all $468 of the vetting, blood test, x-ray and dental treatment costs for Sarah.
