Sassy’s got it all: she’s smart, sweet, and seriously sophisticated! This one-year-old Hound mix ended up at the Greenwood County Animal Shelter in South Carolina on April 12th as a stray and impressed folks at the shelter with her delicate nature and impressive manners. While it seemed as though Sassy had everything going for her, she tested positive for heartworms, which would limit her ability to be adopted or rescued.
Thankfully, Mary Lou Seymour with the Shelter Animals Advocates and its HeartBeat Goes On program knew just what to do. She contacted RADAR immediately to see if we would be able to provide assistance with the cost of Sassy’s heartworm treatment. We agreed to assist, and she was safe! She got her treatment on April 21st.
December Clark, also with Shelter Animals Advocates and The HeartBeat Goes On, said that Sassy was not at all what she’d expected, being so lovely, dainty, and eager to please. She told us this about Sassy’s personality: “Definitely not a bull in the china closet. I told her to sit and her butt quickly hit the ground. She’s eager to please, and is a wonderful, intelligent companion.” Click here to view more photos of Sassy.
RADAR paid all of Sassy’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $308.
