Sassy

Sassy is equal parts sweet, sensible, and of course, sassy! This eight-year-old Lab mix ended up at the Surry County Animal Control shelter in North Carolina on April 24th with her sister Rollie, an eleven-year-old Lab mix. Their previous owner had surrendered them both to the shelter, saying that they couldn’t take care of Sassy and Rollie anymore. Both gals needed basic senior vetting, and while Rollie had tested positive for heartworms, Sassy did not. Either way, both of them were at risk being seniors.

All hope was not lost though, because on May 1st, Mayberry 4 Paws, an organization that helps facilitate and find rescues for at-risk dogs at the Surry County shelter, sought help from RADAR for both Sassy and Rollie. The two of them would be one step closer to securing a rescue if we could provide assistance with their basic vetting and Rollie’s heartworm treatment costs. We agreed to assist with both Sassy and Rollie’s health care costs, and Sassy received her vetting and tests on June 3rd.

Both Sassy and Rollie love to live life to its fullest, enjoying good times with dogs and humans alike. Nicknamed by their foster parent as the Golden Girls, these two will surprise you with how much they love to exercise and play outside! Click here to view more photos of Sassy.

RADAR paid all of Sassy’s vetting and testing costs, which totaled $406.
