Little Scruffy was just that: scruffy! This eight-year-old Terrier mix was found running the roads as a stray with another little buddy. They were taken to the Blount County Animal Shelter in Tennessee on July 1st. Scruffy was a mess, with fleas, a swollen scrotum that eventually burst open, and horrible teeth. Oh, and he was heartworm positive.
On July 18th, RADAR’s liaison at the shelter, Kristin Baksa, contacted us for help with the heartworm treatment for Scruffy. “We’ve fixed his teeth and treated his scrotum (poor guy),” Kristin told us. “We’re hoping once he gets his treatment behind him he can start living the good life.” We agreed to help.
Scruffy had his heartworm treatment on July 25th. “This little guy is so friendly,” Kristin said. “He loves people and dogs, but he especially likes a nice comfy bed and couch! He’s very happy in your arms or lap!” To see more photos of Scruffy, click here.
RADAR paid all $223 of the heartworm treatment costs for Scruffy.
