Selena

Selena Quintanilla-Pérez was one of the most influential Latin artists of all time. She was also quoted as saying this: “If you have a dream, don’t let anyone take it away.” This Selena, a two-year-old Lab mix, dreamed of having a home where she could feel safe and loved. After her family moved away and left her to roam the streets, Selena went back to the house every day in hopes that her family would come back. They never did, and Selena arrived at the Duplin County Animal Shelter in North Carolina on April 21st as a stray. Sadly, Selena was heartworm positive, making her very urgent.

On March 3rd, Peak Lab Rescue in North Carolina asked for our help with Selena. If RADAR could cover the cost of her heartworm treatment, they could rescue her. We agreed, and Selena was safe! She received her treatment on June 15th and 16th.

“Selena is a sweet and cuddly girl who loves being close to people,” the rescue told us. “Selena really looks forward to walks every night and loves car rides too. She eagerly jumps right into the car and is a good rider. She stays in her crate when no one is home and likes chewing on bones and toys while she is in there. Selena loves snuggling up and napping next to people and she loves laying her head on a pillow!” Click here to view more photos of Selena.

RADAR paid all of Selena’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $139.
